Founder, Sarah Thursday
Sarah Thursday
Sarah is an artist who kickstarted her independent label, Sarah Thursday in 2013. The brand creates illustrations inspired by dark alternative subcultures with a deeply personal twist, celebrates the ‘different’ and the ‘weird’ and encourages everyone to be unabashedly themselves. The artist hopes that the label’s merchandise resonates with the like-minded and helps with self expression. In 2016, she had her first solo exhibition at Cat Cafe Neko no Niwa, which has a special place in her heart as it was the place she worked at for 5 years and where she calls her second home. She then curated and organised a 13-artist art show in 2019 called ‘Catharsis’ that focused on mental health awareness at Substation. She also started having her own studio space in 2020 and has ran a takeover shop at The Lucky Shop at Queensway and a pop-up at The Lucky Shop at Plaza Singapura in 2021 and 2022 respectively. The young founder has achieved amazing feats over the years, and she continues to do so with her latest work with Anime Festival Asia 2022, where she created a collaborated merchandise collection for the event happening in Singapore.
