“If you can't be first, create something new and be the first in it, and if you can't be the first or the best, always remember being different is just as effective” is what JOANNALSM’s founder and designer, Joanna Lim strongly advocates for. JOANNALSM is a rising couture fashion brand where it emphasises on identity, providing custom and unique garments that are carefully designed and curated for everyone to wear. The fashion brand founder has achieved more than her fair share of accolades, with JOANNALSM as 1 of the 46 designers to represent Singapore for the iD International Emerging Designer award in New Zealand 2018, as well as awarded as the first runner up for Harper’s BAZAAR Asia New Gen Fashion Award showcased in Singapore Fashion Week 2017. Apart from the brand, Joanna has also initiated a project with Taiwanese-Singapore artist, Benedict Yu, alongside 6 other participating artists, in painting Singapore’s indoor largest art mural. It is currently being displayed at the shopping mall GR.iD, and it spans a height of 7 storeys and took them a total of 750 hours of hard work to complete it.
