Listed in Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Asia are gush co-founders Lester Leong and Benny Jiao. Gush is a sustainable paint brand and it all started when the duo was finding a malleable solution to their personal frustrations of being sensitive to air pollution. Through their own extensive research, they concluded that the way to bring in healthy air to indoor spaces was to transform walls with their paint into passive air purifiers that prevent moulding and include humidity-regulating properties. Their products and materials expanded from there, with paint catering to exterior walls as well as solar films for window surfaces to reduce overall heat, prevent UV-induced effects and reduce energy bills. The brand is backed by Singapore mainboard-listed property group, City Developments Limited and has completed more than 8000 projects in Singapore to date, with notable projects with Thomson Medical, Farrer Park Hospital, and Changi Beach Club. “There’s no fate but what we make” was what the founding duo said as they take progressive steps to expand into the overseas markets, and continue to drive the shift towards environmentally friendly materials for a healthier environment for everyone.
